Welcome.
My name is Rich Racz.
The name "Kestava" comes from the Finnish word for "lasting" or durable, sustainable, enduring. In the world of building, this concept can be difficult to practice, with construction projects often at the mercy of the financial bottom line or better-faster-cheaper model. Kestava aims to provide a structural engineering service that puts long-term thinking ahead of short term goals.

OUR WHY
Kestava was started as a combination structural design practice and education endeavor. Disenchanted with the idea that there can be only one career direction for an Engineer, Rich began posting study-help videos for young structural engineers on YouTube as a challenge to himself during the pandemic.

Stemming from the belief that learning structural concepts shouldn't be limited to professional engineering schools or textbooks, the Kestava channel is populated with subjects that Rich wanted to learn more about during his early days of scouring the web for study material content. The field of structural engineering simply needed a more accessible avenue for learning.

We pride ourselves on offeringtop-notch consultation services tailored to the unique needs of each client. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, we strive to deliver solutions stand the test of time.
INTENTIONAL DUALITY
As he achieved a following in content creation — "success" was re-defined, which is to say, providing a helpful platform for the next generation of engineers using technology and media to facilitate learning was an incredibly gratifying role. And a much-needed one in the YouTube space.

Kestava's value creation is through user-centered content that is unique in the engineering field. This binary approach to Rich's work is proof that both teaching and practice can co-exist successfully.
